According to ThinkImpact Teacher Burnout statistics, up to 30% of new teachers quit their jobs within five years of teaching. Between February 2020 and May 2022, it was estimated that over 300,000 public school teachers and other staff quit due to burnout. In talking to teachers, most of them love what they do, but the many hats they have to wear as an educator adds additional stress to their daily work, leading to burnout. For Special Education teachers, the statistics are even higher. According to Inside IES Research, a nationwide survey of schools in 2022 reported that vacancies in special education were nearly double that of other subject areas. This survey also found that 65% of public schools in the United States reported being understaffed in special education. My business solves the problem of equipping beginning special educators in years 1-3 with the tools to decrease burnout and increase student and teacher success through robust coaching. This will be done by giving Special Educators the tools to navigate the waters of case management, time management, and tools for curating individualized instructional and behavior plans while efficiently managing self-care.
