Would you agree that the tests given to you in life are challenging to pass successfully? For more than twenty years, Olavee Williams has developed successfully in the education industry and life, in excellence. In the beginning, she was a bus driver for a public school, which propelled her to earn a certification as a teacher. Serving as a substitute teacher and teaching assistant led her to become a savvy classroom teacher. Purpose, passion, of course being personable and perseverance were the wheels that drove her further to learn and earn a School Administrator/Principal license. The pivotal point in her life was as a school bus driver. It depicted a parallel universe of the road to her destiny. The journey in which she travelled introduced her to confronting the best and worst of her. She learned her strengths, weaknesses, limitations and possible opportunities. She met the leader within. Her bus ride in the school of life drove her to experience heights that went beyond her imagination.
Led by divine intelligence, Olavee found and crossed the path that was created for her to walk and leave unprecedented footsteps—teaching and leading a school. Strategically placed in the environment of coaches and mentors, she received guidance and support to arrive at her present destination. Olavee’s calm yet thought provoking approach and attentiveness to communicate her knowledge and expertise on leadership, coaching teachers, academic data and curriculum and instruction with a passionate heart, helps and permeates those engaged. As an authentic living example, she imitates her coaches and mentors, leading and empowering her clients to become the best leaders in their sphere of influence. As a highly sought after coach and mentor for teachers, leaders, adults and children, multiple business operations, religious and educational organizations, request her knowledge, expertise and presence. Granted these opportunities, she serves in various capacities which comes natural. Creating strategies to help others to reach their next level is her goal.

In my career as an EC Teacher, growing students in reading have always been a strength of mine. This data is a snapshot of one of my recent years teaching students with learning and behavioral disabilities. I believe that ALL students have the ability to learn no matter their disability. Being strategic with the data collected is vital!
Hands down, math is NOT one of my strengths in teaching. As a Special Education teacher, I had to teach it. Most of my students were two or more grade levels below in math. I am good at analyzing my data to develop strategic plans to instruct and grow my students based on their needs. My data show that even if YOU are not the best at something, with a plan, you can still move your students!
For the 2021-2022, I was blessed with the opportunity to lead a school as Interim Principal. It was a tremendous and rewarding yet challenging experience. Still dealing with the impact of the pandemic, teacher turnovers, struggling students, parent and teacher concerns, and most days trying to ensure we were entirely staffed due to call-ins, we managed. Despite the challenges, we were still able to make some growth in math and reading Schoolwide. Strategic planning is key!
